Intel Gamer Days is back, and Canadian PC gamers have more than a few weeks to hunt for an upgrade.
The 2026 edition of Intel’s annual gaming promotion officially begins August 10 and runs through September 13, with participating manufacturers and retailers rolling out discounts on Intel-powered gaming laptops and desktops. There is also a software promotion tied to qualifying hardware, although that part of the event does not begin immediately.
For anyone already considering a new gaming rig, laptop, streaming machine or back-to-school PC, the timing is pretty deliberate.
Intel Gamer Days 2026 Puts Core Ultra Gaming PCs in the Spotlight
This year’s Intel Gamer Days campaign leans heavily into systems powered by Intel Core Ultra processors. Gaming remains the obvious focus, but Intel is also pitching these machines toward streamers, creators and players who routinely have several demanding applications open at once.
That distinction matters more than it used to. A gaming PC is rarely just running a game anymore. Discord is open. A browser has 20 tabs sitting somewhere in the background. OBS might be recording. Someone is editing clips five minutes after finishing a match.
Intel is positioning newer Core Ultra-powered laptops and desktops as machines built for that messier reality rather than gaming in isolation.
Brands participating in the promotion include major PC names such as ASUS, Lenovo and MSI, alongside other manufacturers selling Intel-powered gaming systems. The actual hardware available will differ depending on the retailer and when individual promotions go live.
Canadian Retailers Won’t All Have the Same Deals
One detail worth knowing before heading straight to a checkout page: Intel Gamer Days 2026 is not one giant synchronized sale.
In Canada, participating retailers include Best Buy Canada, Staples Canada, Canada Computers, Memory Express and Costco. Promotions can appear at different times during the August 10 to September 13 campaign, so a deal available from one retailer may not exist somewhere else — or may show up later.
That makes comparison shopping unusually important here.
Someone looking for a particular gaming laptop could potentially see its price move as different retailers cycle through their Gamer Days promotions. Availability, eligible configurations and discounts are also being handled on a retailer-by-retailer basis.
The Free Game Bundle Starts August 28
The hardware discounts start with Intel Gamer Days, but one of the more interesting bonuses arrives later.
Beginning August 28, qualifying purchases can become eligible for Intel’s Gamer Days software bundle. Intel’s official promotion terms list STAR WARS: Galactic Racer and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis as the featured titles.
Each game is listed by Intel with an average retail value of US$59.99, putting the combined stated value of the two titles at US$119.98.
There is an important catch: buying an Intel gaming PC during Gamer Days does not automatically mean the software offer applies.
Eligibility depends on the qualifying hardware, participating seller, purchase date and the specific promotion being offered. Intel says the eligible purchase period can also differ between participating sellers. In other words, check the fine print before treating the games as part of the deal.
Buying Before August 28 Could Make Things Complicated
This is probably the part shoppers will want to pay the most attention to.
Intel Gamer Days begins August 10, while the Game Keys portion of the Canadian promotion is scheduled to begin August 28. That leaves more than two weeks where someone could purchase a qualifying-looking PC only to discover that the game promotion was not active through that retailer yet.
Some retailers may choose to honor qualifying earlier purchases, according to the campaign information, but that decision is left to individual retailers. There is no reason to assume it will happen automatically.
If the free games are a major reason for buying, checking eligibility before paying makes more sense than trying to sort it out afterward.
Intel Is Targeting More Than Hardcore PC Gamers
Intel Gamer Days has traditionally revolved around PC gaming, though the definition of its audience continues to stretch.
This year’s campaign is aimed at everyone from casual players and competitive gamers to students, livestreamers and digital creators. That also explains why Intel is emphasizing multitasking and creative workloads alongside frame rates.
Gaming hardware has moved into an awkwardly useful middle ground. A high-end laptop bought for games can double as an editing workstation. A desktop built for competitive gaming can spend half its life rendering video or running streaming software.
Intel clearly wants Gamer Days to capture those buyers too.
Intel Gamer Days Runs Until September 13
Canadian shoppers have until September 13 to follow the broader Intel Gamer Days 2026 campaign, but there may not be a single “best day” to buy.
Deals will shift. Retailer promotions can start at different times. Eligible PCs can vary. The software bundle has its own timing and requirements.
That makes this less of a one-weekend sale and more of a month-long window for anyone already watching gaming PC prices.
For gamers planning an upgrade, the smartest move may simply be keeping an eye on several retailers rather than jumping at the first Gamer Days badge that appears. And if the free games matter, August 28 is the date to remember.
